Medical Society Consortium on Climate & Health’s Annual Meeting
March 19-21, 2023 | Washington DC
The Medical Society Consortium on Climate & Health’s Annual Meeting will be held in person and virtually on March 19-20, 2023, with in-person Congressional visits on March 21. The meeting will take place at Van Metre Hall on George Mason University’s Campus in Arlington, Virginia, and on Zoom. The theme for this year’s meeting is Seize the Moment for Climate Action: Building The Climate Health Movement.

The historic passage of the Inflation Reduction Act and other recent regional, state, and local climate policy present important new opportunities, but also new challenges, to achieving the goals of our Policy Action Agenda. With more of the public hearing our messages and the almost daily reminders of the health and safety threats posed by a warming world, we now have the momentum to move toward our goals. We can and must seize it. We need to ensure every medical professional who is willing is empowered and prepared to advocate on the local, state, and federal levels to ensure that these dollars are best spent on climate, health, and equity.

Registration for in-person attendance closes on March 7, 2023. Book your hotel by February 26, 2023, to stay in our 2023 Annual Meeting room block at the Residence Inn Arlington Ballston.

2023 Protecting Health in a Changing Climate Conference
April 22, 2023 | Charlottesville, VA
The health sector’s global climate footprint is massive—if it were a country, it would be the fifth-largest emitter on the planet. And you might be surprised to learn that the U.S. health-care sector is the worst offender, the world’s top emitter of greenhouse gases in both absolute and per capita terms.

So if we want to make a difference, where do we start?

This conference will help equip people who are interested in health-care sustainability with the knowledge and resources to work for change. The agenda is built around the action steps outlined in the Health Care Without Harm Global Road Map for Health Care Decarbonization.
